Social justice educator and writer


Kimm Topping, Ed.M. (they/them/theirs) is an educator and writer with experience in non-profit management, fundraising, and communications. Kimm’s work values youth voice & leadership, anti-racism, anti-oppression, and trauma-informed education.

Kimm began their work as a youth worker in 2014 at Tutoring Plus where they trained volunteer tutors and led a girls’ media literacy program. In 2016, Kimm began facilitating trainings focused on supporting LGBTQ+ communities to schools, non-profits, shelters, and domestic violence agencies.

Since, Kimm has worked closely with organizations on professional development, curriculum, and organizational change as a consultant for the Safe Schools Program for LGBTQ+ StudentsThe Network/La RedBuilding AudacityA World of Difference Institute, and MaeBright Group LLC. Kimm co-founded kyriQ with their partner, Minh Nguyen, and they provide LGBTQ+ inclusion trainings together. As a researcher for the Cambridge Commission on the Status of Women, they write the Mapping Feminist Cambridge series.

They are currently writing their first full-length book, GENERATION QUEER, a non-fiction book that highlights the stories of 30 LGBTQ+ youth activists. Kimm is represented by Laura Gross Literary Agency. For fun, Kimm is either staring longingly at their two cats, learning about queer history, or giving love to their chosen family.
